OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT (85/1993): INCLUSION OF NOISE MONITORING BY MEANS OF PERSONAL DOSIMETRY IN REGULATION 7 OF THE NOISE INDUCED HEARING LOSS REGULATIONS

The Minister of Labour has, in terms of section 43(1)(b)(v) of the OSHA, included noise monitoring by means of personal dosimetry in terms of SANS 10083, for employees potentially exposed to noise at or above the noise rating limit, whom are neither working in an area of approximate equal noise level or fixed location to supplement the measures in regulation 7(2) of the Noise Induced Hearing Loss Regulations with effect from the date of publication of this notice.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT (85/1993): AMENDED NOTICE OF DIRECTION IN TERMS OF SECTION 27(2) OF THE OSHA, READ WITH REGULATION 3(4)(A) OF THE GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS

The Minister of Labour has, in terms of section 27(1) of the OSHA, given notice that as from the date of this notice, all applications for approval from a person or organisation who wants to provide First Aid training approved by the Chief Inspector, as referred to in regulation 3(4)(a) of the General Safety Regulation, published under GNR 1031 of 30 May 1986, will only be considered if it is accompanied by a valid accreditation certificate issued by the Quality Assurance Body that has been delegated the quality assurance responsibilities for First aid unit standards by the Quality Council for Trades & Occupations, established in terms of section 26I(1) of the Skills Development Amendment Act, 2008, and has been authorised by the Chief Inspector to carry out such accreditation.

NATIONAL FORESTS ACT (84/1998): INTENTION TO DECLARE A PORTION OF THE FARM KATHU 465 AS FOREST NATURE RESERVE UNDER SECTION 8(1) OF THE ACT

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has, in terms of section 9(1)(a) of the NFA, given notice of her intention to declare a portion of the farm Kathu 465, as detailed in the schedule to this notice, as a Forest Nature Reserve under section 8(1)(c)(i) of the NFA.
