Professional Indemnity Law

The Professional Indemnity Department provides expert legal representation to medical and related healthcare professionals as well as to other professionals who require assistance in dealing with claims, professional disciplinary proceedings and other legal challenges arising from the practise of their professions.

We are recognised as being one of the leading providers of these services in South Africa, having represented the premier provider of professional indemnity cover to healthcare professionals for the last forty-five years. We also represent other providers of health care indemnity to the medical profession.

The services provided by our department include assistance in the defence of claims for damages instituted against professionals arising from the practise of their professions and also legal representation at inquests and criminal matters. We also provide representation and advice relating to professional disciplinary proceedings and other aspects of practice. Some sixteen professionals in the department are dedicated to the provision of these services.
