WASTE MANAGEMENT BY-LAWS
The Kai !Garib Local Municipality have adopted the Waste Management Bylaws that were published under GN 2 on 7 January 2011, which by-laws regulated, inter alia, the removal of waste within the jurisdiction of the Municipality.09

The MEC for the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism has, in terms of section 28(1) of the NEM:PAA, declared the following as protected environments on the respective land parcels, as listed in the schedule attached to this notice - Machaka Protected Environment; Thabina Protected Environment; Thengwe Nature Reserve; Doorndraai Nature Reserve; Nzalama Protected Environment.09

NATIONAL WATER ACT (36/1998): RESERVE DETERMINATION OF WATER RESOURCES FOR THE OLIFANTS-DOORN CATCHMENTS
The Acting Director-General of the Department of Water and Sanitation has, in terms of section 13 of the NWA and regulation 3 of the Regulations for the establishment of Water Resource Classification System, published the Reserve Determination of water resources for the Olifants-Doorn catchments.09

NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT (107/1998): NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT THE IEMP FOR THE SKA PHASE 1 FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
The Minister of Environmental Affairs has given notice of her intention to adopt the Integrated Environmental Management Plan (“IEMP”) for the Square Kilometre Array (Phase 1) as an environmental management instrument and her intention to exclude, in terms of section 24(2)(e) of the NEMA, all activities, identified in terms of section 24(2)(a) and (b) of the NEMA, which are associated with the development of Phase 1 of the SKA and that are described in Chapter 2 of the IEMP from the requirement to obtain environmental authorisation in terms of the NEMA.09

The Minister of Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 24H of the NEMA and regulation 9 of the section 24H Registration Authority Regulations, 2016, approved the levying of fees for applications for registration, lodging of appeals and annual fees for registered candidate environmental assessment practitioners and registered environmental assessment practitioners.09
