NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: PROTECTED AREAS ACT (57/2003): INTENTION TO DECLARE ATTACHED RESPECTIVE LAND PARCELS AS NATURE RESERVES
The MEC for Economic Development Environment and Tourism for the Limpopo Province has, in terms of section 33(1)(a) of the NEMPAA, given notice of his intention to declare the land parcels listed in the schedule to this notice as the following nature reserves in terms of section 23(1)(a)(i) of the NEMPAA - Letaba Ranch; De Hoop Dam; Nungu Farm Schedule; and Moepel Nature Reserve.19

The KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Service (trading as Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife) has, in terms of section 33(1) of the NEMPAA, given notice of its intention to re-declare the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site (“UDPWHS”) as a 'nature reserve'.19

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF THE DECLARATIONS OF PRIVATE NATURE RESERVES IN THE FREE STATE PROVINCE
The MEC for Economic and Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs for the Free State Province has, in terms of section 36(2) of the Free State Nature Conservation Ordinance, unconditionally withdrawn the declaration as private nature reserves of the properties reflected hereunder - Stafford's Hill Bird Sanctuary (GNR 13, dated 14 January 1994), a portion of the farm Dorpsgronden No 75, situated on Unit No.19

THE WATER ACT (36/1998): IRRIGATION BOARDS AND WATER USERS ASSOCIATIONS INSTRUCTION TO INSTALL WATER MEASURING DEVICES FOR WATER TAKEN FOR IRRIGATION PURPOSES AND TO MONITOR COMPLIANCE TO REGULATIONS REQUIRING THAT THE TAKING OF WATER FOR IRRIGATION PURPOSES BE MEASURED, RECORDED AND REPORTED
The Acting Director-General of the Department of Water and Sanitation has, in terms of sections 22(2) and 63(1) as well as item 4 of Schedule 3 of the NWA, instructed all Irrigation Boards and Water Users Associations in the country to install water measuring devices for water taken for irrigation purposes and to monitor compliance to GNR 131 of 2017.19

NATIONAL WATER ACT (36/1998): PROPOSED RESERVE DETERMINATION OF WATER RESOURCES FOR THE MVOTI TO UMZIMKULU CATCHMENTS
The Minister of Water and Sanitation has, in terms of sections 13, 16(1) and 16(3) of the NWA read with regulation 3 of the Regulations for the Establishment of the Classification System published on 17 September 2010, published the proposed Reserve determination of water resources for catchments of the Mvoti to Umzimkulu as detailed in the schedule to this notice.19

The Minister of Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 24(5)(a) and (b) of NEMA and regulation 15 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014, provided for the procedure to be followed in applying for environmental authorisation for large scale wind and solar photovoltaic energy development activities, identified in terms of section 24(2)(a) of NEMA as set out in the schedule to this notice.19
