ASTRONOMY GEOGRAPHIC ADVANTAGE ACT (21/2007): NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE REGULATIONS ON THE PROTECTION MEASURES TO BE APPLIED WITHIN THE SUTHERLAND CENTRAL ASTRONOMY ADVANTAGE AREA IN TERMS OF THE ACT

The Minister of Science and Technology has, in accordance with section 23 of the AGAA, and having obtained the concurrence of the Minister of Finance (to the extent that these Regulations have financial implications), given notice of her intention to make Regulations as set out in Schedules 1- “Proposed Regulations to be applied within the Sutherland Central” and 2 – “Proposed Regulations on financial compensation procedures for the Sutherland Central Astronomy Advantage Area” of the notice respectively.

The draft Regulations apply to the Sutherland Central Astronomy Advantage Area declared for the purpose of optical astronomy and related scientific endeavors in terms of section 9(1) and (2) of the Act.

Interested or affected persons and members of the public are invited to submit written representations on or objections to the regulations within sixty (60) days from the date of publication of the abovementioned notice.
