The Minister of Energy has, in terms of section 17 of National Energy Act 34 of 2008, published a Draft Position Paper on the South African Biofuels Regulatory Framework for public comment.
The paper deals with, amongst others:
a) Biofuels pricing framework;
b) Implementation of biofuels industry strategy;
c) Mandatory blending regulations;
d) Licensing of manufacturers of biofuels;
e) Criteria for eligibility for government's support for manufacturers of biofuels.
