The Minister of Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 23(1) of the NEM:AQA, declared small-scale char plants and small-scale charcoal plants as controlled emitters and has also, in terms of section 24 of the NEM:AQA, establish emission standards for the small-scale char and small-scale charcoal plants.

The Director General of the Department of Water and Sanitation has, in terms of item 6(1) of schedule 3 to the NWA, limited the taking of water from the Mutshedzi Dam, Nzhelele Dam, Nwanedzi Dam, the Luphephe Dam, Middle Letaba Dam, Nsami Dam, Modjadji Dam and Tzaneen Dam in accordance with the restrictions further detailed in this notice.
