The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs has given notice of her intention, under section 8 of the World Heritage Convention Act 49 of 1999, to declare the MEC responsible for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism in the Limpopo Province as the Management Authority responsible for the Makapan Valley World Heritage Site for a period of 5 years subject to a performance review.
