The Minister of Environmental Affairs has published the Climate Change Bill, 2018 for public comment. The purpose of the Bill is to:
- provide for the coordinated and integrated response to climate change and its impacts by all spheres of government;
- to provide for the effective management of inevitable climate change impacts; and
- make a fair contribution to the global effort to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere.
The public is invited to submit written comments to the Minister within 60 days from the date of publication of this Notice (i.e. on or before 08 August 2018).
