Chanel obtained her BCom Law degree in 2018 from the University of Stellenbosch after majoring in Accounting and Tax, and her LLB degree in 2020 from the same institution. During her studies, she became involved in her university residence leadership and mentorship programs and joined the Stellenbosch Chapter of the Golden Key organisation. As part of her membership with Golden Key, Chanel served on their sub-committee by assisting the chapter to organise its events and taking part in their community service initiatives. In her final year of her LLB, Chanel was encouraged to publish a piece of work written on the new Public Procurement Law Bill, which has since appeared as a journal article in the African Public Procurement Law Journal of 2021. Chanel commenced her candidate attorney articles with MacRobert Attorneys in 2022 and has been appointed as an Associate in the Healthcare and Professional Indemnity Law department.
