The Stellenbosch Municipality has published, in terms of section 156(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and section 11 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000, the Integrated Waste Management By-Law. The By-Law regulates, inter alia, the municipality’s obligation to regulate the avoidance, minimization, generation, collection, cleaning and disposal of waste and matters related thereto.
