CONSULTATION NOTICE ON THE MINISTER'S INTENTION TO AMEND SECTION 24H REGISTRATION AUTHORITY REGULATIONS, 2016:

MacRobert wishes to draw your attention to the following important notices published on 24 January 2020

The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries, has in terms of the National Environmental Act declared her intention to amend the Section 24H Registration Authority Regulations, 2016, published under sections 24(5)(e), 24H and 44 of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as set out in the Schedule hereto.
 
Amendment of Regulation 22
 
The proposed amendment is in respect of subregulation (2) of Regulation 22 of the Section24H Registration Authority Regulations, 2016, published under Government Notice No. 849 in Government Gazette 40154 of 22 July 2016,which is proposed to be amended as follows:

"(2) Regulation 14 of these Regulations takes effect 48 months from the date of the appointment of the first registration authority.
 
The effect of the abovementioned amendment would be to extend the period within which Regulation 14 takes effect from a period of 24 months to 48 months.
 
Members of the public should submit to the Minister, their written inputs or comments in regards to the abovementioned notice within 30 days of the publication thereof in the Government Gazette.
